Following their adaptation of Roald Dahl's The Giraffe, The Pelly and Me, its playhouse puppeteers are reviving their script this Easter based on Eileen Browne's beloved book for early learners: Handa's Hens.
Set in Kenya, the story follows Handa, a young girl from the Luo tribe, who is responsible for feeding her Grandma's black hen. One morning, Mondi is nowhere to be seen, and Handa and her friend Akeyo must embark on a hunt to find her. On their way they discover instead a couple of fluttery butterflies, three stripy mice under the grain store and four lizards behind the pots... but no Mondi.
Featuring 55 painted puppets, we expect luminous colours and moving music to accompany Handa on her search for her Grandma's black hen.
Suitable for ages 2-6
