A pride of endangered Asiatic lions has arrived in this specially constructed and stylised enclosure, styled on the ruins of an amphitheatre-like lion temple. Three walkways cover the 2,500sqm exhibit with an immersive India-themed area, including a train station, hight street and guard hut, that visitors can explore is a atmospheric piece of architecture that brings the smells and architecture of India -- complete with monkeys.
Families can get up close to the beautiful big cats thanks to newly installed 'windowless-views' created using fine wires. Then, embark on an interactive Indian adventure helping ZSL’s forest rangers deal with a ‘lion-emergency’ in the Gir Forest, and lend a hand to the veterinary team who come to the rescue.
A great excuse to go back to London Zoo this May half term and -- of course -- enjoy all the other animals whilst you're there, especially late at night at Sunset Safari.
