The next generation female chefs to know in London
Hot on the heels of Clare Smyth (of Core by Clare Smyth) being announced The World's Best Female Chef 2018, here are 15 more women in London's kitchens to visit now
Already renowned for her Persian supper clubs, Bita Fallah has taken over the kitchens at Jacob & the Angel, part of The Barbary/Palomar group of restaurants that we love. Look out for Bita's influence on the gorgeous, creative sandwiches (the vegan, umami rich Portobello mushroom, pickled vegetables and peanut satay sandwich is wonderful), salads including kale with freekeh, pistachios & green beans, sweet potato, coconut yoghurt, chilli butter, sumac, almonds & coriander.
Besides Square Mile coffee, the cakes are superb and baked fresh each morning. With more tables, it has far more of a buzzy, warm cafe atmosphere and there's a whole programme of supper clubs being held on weekday evenings too. eanwhile, May16-19 The Barbary will be taking residence.
The name Jacob the Angel comes from the Angel Inn, the first place to serve coffee brought to London by a Middle Eastern gentleman named Jacob back in 1611!
Price: £25.00 for two with drinks
