The next generation female chefs to know in London
Hot on the heels of Clare Smyth (of Core by Clare Smyth) being announced The World's Best Female Chef 2018, here are 15 more women in London's kitchens to visit now
Scandi purity meets French sophistication at Helena Puolakka's Aster in Victoria's new culinary hub.
The all day dining menu in the chic ground floor offers brunch through a Scandi lens, a kind of DIY Nordic mezze of pickled herrings, gravlax, and salads which is perfect over a detailed girls' lunch.
At dinner, the super-glam upstairs offers a brilliant edible journey through Helena's illustrious career working with some of the world's best chefs including Gordon Ramsay, Pierre Gagnaire and her absolute hero Pierre Koffmann.
The six course menu which may be paired with Laurent-Perrier Champagne throughout, brilliantly combines her Nordic heritage and time spent cooking at the best kitchens in Paris and London. The dishes include scallop carpaccio with seabuckthorn curd & lemon juniper dressing, confit of salmon with asparagus, anchovy and crispy kale, and a highly unusual sliced beetroot sponge with chocolate ganache and smoked beetroot sorbet.
Price: £50.00 for two with drinks downstairs
