The most tantalising tasting menus to try in London
Tasting menus to thrill
Already a sensation in Delhi and New York, Indian Accent's opening in London has been eagerly anticipated by the capital's most discerning Indian gastronomy devotees. It is a real find for all who are keen to eat and explore a different kind of Indian cuisine beyond butter chicken and naan.
The most satisfying way to experience the depth, complexity and delicacy of executive chef Manish Mehrotra's creativity is by ordering the lunch or dinner tasting menu. It's a moving experience and touches all the senses. Here's hoping that it really puts modern Indian on the international culinary map. Mehrotra uses local produce and modern technique to construct dishes in a very different way to any other high-end Indian restaurant in Mayfair.
Standout dishes include: a crisp beet and peanut butter vadai with goat's cheese pachadi; and wild mushroom kulcha with black dairy dal and pistachio cream, with wasabi cucumber raita.
Most captivating of all is makhani malai, saffron milk, rose petal jaggery brill and almonds.
Drink an exquisite "Proper Copper" kaffir lime leaf infused vodka cocktail with honey and rosewater adorned with rose petals out of a copper mug.
The elegant Mayfair location, with jade green velvet banquettes and a mellow jazz soundtrack, only enhances this very special treat.
