The women shaking up the drinks industry
Women have better palates according to countless studies backed up by wine high priestess Jancis Robinson MW. So no wonder we’re challenging for supremacy in every area of the drinks business from whisky, sherry and mezcal to the most innovative alcohol-free libations.
Claire Warner-Smith has recently joined Seedlip, the ground-breaking alcohol-free spirit brand – the first distilled non-alcoholic spirit using botanicals in a similar manner to gin – that is future-proofing a whole new category of drinks including Seedlip crafted cocktails. Her role is to continue to innovate.
Until December 8, Seedlip are running a pop-up Seedlip General Store & Bar on Duke St, by Selfridge's showcasing their cocktails. Whilst sipping a NOgroni or hot toddy, peruse a discerningly curated range of both Seedlip homeware, drinkware, botanical candles, house plants, and gardenware. They are running cocktail mistressclasses and Christmas wreath making sessions too.
There are now three Seedlip distillates: Grove 42 celebrating the orange with distillates including bitter orange, mandarin, blood orange. Alternatively, lemongrass, ginger, lemon and the cool prickle of Japanese sancho peppercorns can be found in Seedlip Garden 108 and Seedlip Spice 94.
Warner-Smith is working on three more stand-alone drinks 'rooted in nature' to launch later in the year.
