The women shaking up the drinks industry
Women have better palates according to countless studies backed up by wine high priestess Jancis Robinson MW. So no wonder we’re challenging for supremacy in every area of the drinks business from whisky, sherry and mezcal to the most innovative alcohol-free libations.
Thea Cumming and Melanie Symonds discovered their love for Mezcal – made from agave and buried – on their travels to Oaxaca in southern Mexico. Both worked with Mexican producers they met to create their own small brands. Quiquiriqui is Melanie Symonds first mezcal and Dangerous Don is the first coffee mezcal created by Thea Cumming.
