Brigadiers, a mango shandy serving huge Indian barbecue pub-restaurant inspired by army mess rooms with private will open in May at hot city restaurant destination Bloomberg Arcade.
The Sethi siblings already have an amazing track record from their first Indian restaurant Trishna where Karem Sethi won JFK restaurants a Michelin star, they've since opened Gymkhana, Hoppers and nurtured other outstanding chefs/restaurateurs too including Bao, Lyles and phenomenal new opening Sabor.
The menu centres around different methods of Indian barbecue: tandoors, charcoal grills, rotisseries, wood ovens and classic Indian smokers.
There will be chhota chapati (fiery small plates); anda (egg) offal, rot, Madras mess mix: oysters saagafeller; chaat masala pork scratchings; smoked roe and fennel raita; pig cheek samosas; shellfish pakora, goat chapel and smoked bhuna goat bun kebab, tandoori chicken club sandwich.
A feasting menu will include rotisserie ducks, wood-roasted suckling lambs, awash wood roasted skate wing; dry masala rib eye steak and by pre-order: whole suckling lamb biryani.
For those sport-inclined, there is a sports bar and pool table.
To cope with the expected demand, there will be in-house pre-mixed cocktails on tap, a serve yourself whisky machine and 30 special beer brews created for Brigadiers.
