The best London restaurants from the year so far
The London restaurant scene shows no sign of slowing down. Big name chefs and restaurants from all over the world have their eyes on us.
The places that are serving up the most interesting and inventive food in town right now are not only the high-end, glamour places, though we love Ella Canta, Jean-Georges Restaurant at The Berkeley and ultra-hip The Cub. Small, quirkier finds giving British ingredients the global treatment are thrilling us too.
Here are eight
essential places to try: a mix of those still under the radar and those where
booking well in advance is essential.
In a nutshell: Chicken kiev with truffle butter, say no more
The trad décor is a trifle off-putting, but the posh comfort food within The Stafford Hotel is well worth best behaviour.
Chef James Durrant is a protégée of Gordon Ramsay and Jason Atherton. We loved the salmon trolley: smoked, ceviche and gravlax, the rotisserie of luscious small birds and a delicate steamed syrup. Perfect for Sunday lunch.
Price: Dinner for two with drinks: £120.00
