Partly politics aside, we’ve learned a lot about Corbyn over the past year or so, not least about his love of literature. His favourites include Maya Angelou, W.B. Yeats, and Ben Okri who he quoted in his 2015 Labour Party conference speech. The Booker-winning Okri responded with a poem entitled A New Dream of Politics, closing with the lines ‘There’s always a new way,/ A better way that’s not been tried before.’
When Corbyn and Okri meet on July 15 at the Southbank Centre, expect much discussion of what this new way might be.
