This July, the Box Tale Soup company brings everyone’s favourite bedtime story to life with an inventive production of The Wind in the Willows at the Little Angel Theatre that stays true to the text from the original 1908 novel. (As a result, plot, language, and daring adventure scenes with unfriendly animals from the 'Wild Wood' may be challenging for younger audience members.)
The show’s funky staging looks set to inspire little audience members to create their own magic, utilising all manner of household objects: the skidding wheels of Toady’s car become whirling green umbrellas, while a gently rocking picnic hamper stands in for Ratty’s riverboat.
Featuring puppets and pantomime, The Wind in the Willows promises to inspire audience members aged five to 11 – but, as ever, Kenneth Grahame’s timeless tale is one for the whole family.
