“Twas the night before Christmas, when all through thehouse, Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse...”
Clement Clark Moore's much-loved Christmas poem has inspired many festive productions over the years, and this winter the Little Angel Theatre serves up a real gem. From 16 November – 5 January, this charming little puppet theatre in the heart of Islington will host a lively musical show that re-imagines and updates the classic poem, with plenty of family fun and festive cheer.
Following the success of the Little Angel's international hit musical The Mouse Queen, and their popular puppet adaptation of Roald Dahl's The Giraffe and The Pelly and Me, you won't want to miss this comic puppet fantasy from a theatre company renowned for its excellent productions for children and families. The show is co-written by Ben Glasstone and Tim Kane, who formerly collaborated on The Giraffe and The Pelly and Me, and the multi-talented Glasstone also penned the music and lyrics and directs the production.
Capturing all of the excitement and magic of Christmas, this delightful musical follows a little girl called Lara, whose house is a hive of activity on Christmas Eve. While her dad anxiously stirs the cranberry sauce, her annoying little brother stirs up her temper with his irritating antics. But it's Lara who stirs up the most trouble that night by making a careless Christmas wish that she learns to regret.
Expect singing stockings, rambunctious reindeers, a stressed-out Santa-Claus and barrels of laughs in this tumultuous Christmas adventure.
