The location makes it easy to get into character; the show takes place on a perfect replica of Sir Francis Drake’s famous buccaneering galleon The Golden Hinde, which is moored by London Bridge. Three evenings a week, the vessel is commandeered by 40 boisterous crew members, who serve ‘grog on the gun deck’ before leading guests below. There, the undercover mission is revealed: a raid on ‘the world’s finest collection of precious metals and jewels, liquors and liqueurs’.
Will you find the hidden treasure?
Created by Inventive Productions, Pirates of the Hidden Spirit is part of an immersive cocktail series that also includes Moonshine Saloon, a wild west-themed bar in Fulham that began life as a BYOB pop-up; and Alcotraz, inspired by California’s infamous prison. Stepping up the offering from that of previous shows, tickets to Pirates of the Hidden Spirit include three cocktails, one of which contains actual gold (which we’re reliably informed wasn’t stolen at canon-point).
Recipients of multiple five-star reviews, Inventive Productions know their stuff when it comes to immersive entertainment. If you’ve got sea legs, prepare to be hooked by this one.
