The next generation female chefs to know in London
Hot on the heels of Clare Smyth (of Core by Clare Smyth) being announced The World's Best Female Chef 2018, here are 15 more women in London's kitchens to visit now
Yohini Nandakumar and her husband Terry Blake have impressive culinary CVs at a great mix of London's best restaurants from Bao to St John and Pollen Street Social. And Yohhini, whose family heritage is Sri Lankan, is also a lawyer! Their cooking celebrates the sheer exhilarating diversity of cooking and living in London.
The menu ranges from summer pea and girolle bruschetta, or house-cured salmon with lemon and fennel seeds, to Massaman beef brisket with sticky rice or bang bang beef ribs with miso aubergine. All brilliant flavour combinations.
Their pork belly undoubtably has the most crisp and irresistible crackling South of the River. Don't stint on dessert: chocolate and caramel tart is a must.
Hoppers are central to the weekend brunch menu, made according to Yohhini's father's recipe.
The refreshingly short wine list is modestly priced with everything available by the glass. A warm neighbourhood gem.
Price: £50.00 for two including drinks
