The best food centric cafes in London
Cafes to make you happy and enveloped in hygge
The chefs at The Garden Cafe are undoubtedly among the most talented in London. George Ryle's CVs includes St John's Bread and Wine, Lyles, Padella and more. What's good news is they've chosen to work at this beautiful newly built restaurant with civilised (for chefs) opening hours. Dinner is served only on Tuesday and Friday evenings. (Otherwise the space is available for private hire.)
Lunch overlooking superstar gardener Dan Pearson's verdant courtyard is a delight . Burrata with blood orange or parsley root soup and superb bread make for a quick snack. More substantial main dishes may include magnificent slow braised lamb shoulder, kedgeree or bavette. Exquisitely crisp shelled profiteroles lush with cream and caramel are too good to miss.
Coffee/tea and pastries are served the rest of the day in this beautifully designed glass and beaten copper pavilion extension to The Garden Museum close to Lambeth Palace.
Price: £80.00 dinner for two including drinks
