Barak Aharoni is the first Tel Aviv chef to guest at Carousel. Aharoni is pivotal to the buzzing Tel Aviv culinary scene and loved for his "soulful" approach to teasing out the essence of ingredients and joyful approach to mixing both historical and modern Israeli and Mediterranean influences. His taste of ALENA at the ultra-stylish The Norman Hotel, promises to be a sell-out residency.
Dishes to look forward to include Iranian style Persian lemon chicken and Aharoni's take on grilled pita bread with lamb and mint. There will be an English adaption of his renowned 'Carmel plate' based on whatever is freshest and most flavourful at Tel Aviv's famed market, served drizzled with his Mediterranean sauce.
Additionally, Aharoni is partnering with his friends at Hampstead's Karmel Bakery to create some bespoke handmade breads which will be served at the dinners.
Besides a choice of good Israeli wines served by The Norman Hotel's sommelier, the cocktail team at Tel Aviv's destination 'The Library bar' have developed drinks especially for the occasion. Our recommendation: The Market Martini: a gin based cocktail with pomegranate star anise syrup, sharpened with lime and finished with a drop of rose oil.
Price: £39.50 for four courses
