London's Christmas carol concerts are something special, no doubt. But even the most religiously fuelled choral champion would be something of a Scrooge if they didn't also nurse a soft spot for Christmas No 1s from the likes of Wham! and Mariah Carey, which never ever get a airing at a carol concerts. Until now.
The Royal Albert Hall in Kensington is stepping into the void this Christmas with those much-loved favourites, sung by the Jingle Belles choir, joined (or accompanied) by the London Concert Orchestra, Capital Voices and West End stars.
Everything from Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree to It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year, White Christmas, Last Christmas, Frosty The Snowman, Jingle Bell Rock, Merry Christmas Everybody, We Need a Little Christmas, Twelve Days of Christmas, All I Want for Christmas is You, Santa Claus is Coming to Town and I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday will be sung to perfection inside one of London's most famous musical and beautiful venues.
And as an extra sprinkling of Christmas joy the Jingle Belles will be providing some high-kicks, can-can style, and two star soloists Laura Tebbutt and Tim Howar will be lifting the roof with their take on - not the classical - but the classic Christmas songs.
