Michal Rovner art and career
Israeli artist Michal Rovner is internationally regarded and has already had a mid-career retrospective at the Whitney Museum of Art and represented Israel at the Venice Biennale in 2003. You may have heard of her Makom (Place) series, where she created new spaces using stones taken from Israeli and Palestinian houses in Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Haifa and Galilee. She's also known for her Traces of Life installation at the Aushwitz-Birkenau State Museum that deals directly with the Jewish children that were killed by the Nazi regime.
