For more than 15 years, Prime Suspect was on ITV, starring Dame Helen Mirren as Jane Tennison... and now the character is back in a prequel to the cop drama, on ITV this March.

Set almost two decades before the original series began and starring Stefanie Martini in Mirren's famous shoes, this time the story is about how Tennison became the strong and powerful force working inside the Metropolitan Police.

It begins in Hackney in the 1970s, with Tennison at the start of her career, then a junior police officer, before being put on a murder enquiry.
