Set in the financial heights of New York City, the show follows the debauched life of billionaire hedge fund king Bobby 'Axe' Axelrod (Damian Lewis) and Charles 'Chuck' Rhoades Jr (Paul Giamatti), the District Attorney intent on bringing him down.
Axe came from nowhere, and followed the call of his rock-solid ego right to the very top of the hedge fund food chain. If that sounds to you a bit like the premise of the The Wolf of Wall Street you've got it about right.
Season two picks up right where the first left off: in the midst of the wreckage each has caused in the other's life. Added into the mix are some intriguing new characters, set to shake up the complex web of relationships already established in the last season.
If you like your TV sexy, sharp and seriously high-octane, with some mind-bending plot-twists and a dose of self-reflection thrown in for good measure, then season two of Billions is worth popping in the diary. Don't forget to catch up on season one.
