From the murky depths of the Indian Ocean to the lush forest canopy of Uganda’s Kibale National Park, travel the world this winter at the Wildlife Photographer of the Year
CATEGORY WINNER 2017, ANIMAL PORTRAITS
On the ground of Uganda's Kibale National Park, Totti the chimpanzee was spotted by Peter on the ground, busy with vigorous courtship, pacing and gesticulating, which was getting him no where. It was only when Totti finally flopped down, worn out with unrequited love, that Peter had his chance. ‘He lay back, hands behind his head, and rested for a moment, as if dreaming of what could have been.’
