The best of Photo London 2017, Somerset House
There's almost too much to see at Photo London, the UK's largest photography event. It's the Frieze of the photography world: a festival signalling to the world that London is just as serious a photographic centre as LA, Paris and NYC.
Major museums, industry heavyweights, tiny galleries, auction houses – London's photographic life has come out in full force. From photojournalism and fine art to fashion and artists' talks, there is something for both the photography connoisseur and the amateur.
Now in its third year, the fair has taken over the whole of Somerset House for four days. There's an embarrassment of riches – more than 85 galleries involved, from around the world – and certainly no way to see everything. So, we've selected a few highlights, from Arthur Elgort's Kate Moss to Christopher Anderson's Hillary Clinton.
Technical perfection from German photographer Candida Höfer, notable for her fantastical large-scale photographs of colourful, empty interiors. Shown at Mayfair-based Ben Brown Fine Arts' Photo London exhibition.
