After days of rain, photographer Marcio captured this phenomenon: click beetle larvae living in the outer layers of termite mounds poke out and flash their bioluminescent ‘headlights’ to lure in their prey – the flying termites – covering the terminate mounds in twinkling green light. But, Marcio got another surprise. Out of the darkness ambled a giant anteater and began to attack the tall, concrete-mud mound with its powerful claws.
