Feel Britannia: Jonathan Goddard
SERIES: we ask choreographer and dancer Jonathan Goddard "what makes you feel emotional about Britain?"
We asked our favourite figures in the arts to tell us what makes Britain feel like home.
Choreographer and dancer Jonathan Goddard:
"The British-made Ercol chair I have in my kitchen, a structure built to last, understated and confident with a wonderful reassuring, awkward grace. Having made a career from constant movement it gives great pleasure to rest with such a great simple and comfortable design."
Jonathan Goddard is an award winning dance artist, choreographer and movement director who has worked with Rambert Dance Company, Richard Alston Dance and The National Theatre. He was the first contemporary dancer to win the Critics Circle National Dance award for Best Male Dancer, winning the prestigious prize for the second time in 2014.
