The Escape, Four Seasons Hotel Hampshire

Four Seasons Hotel Hampshire is due, in June, to launch ‘The Escape’, a weekend fusion of military-inspired outdoor boot camp exercise with state-of-the art spinning classes, Yoga and Tai Chi. The physical challenges are designed by experienced fitness professionals, who will push you to new physical and mental limits.

The backdrop for your ‘extreme boot camp’ is 500 acres of picturesque Hampshire countryside. Over the course of the weekend you will partake in 12 hours of physical exercise – expect jerrycan-carrying, burpee challenges, mud crawling, ice dipping and zip-wiring. This form of group exercise offers plenty of time to develop a collaborative spirit with your fellow ‘Escapees’ (12-14 people per Escape). A surprise element to your stay will take place within the first 24 hours – you are forewarned to ‘expect the unexpected’. This is an intensive weekend of exercise to develop physical and mental endurance and fitness, so be prepared to ‘work’ hard.

That said, the weekend has much more to offer than just gruelling physical, goal-driven exercise. The weekend ‘Escape’ experience intersperses exercise with luxurious pamper treatments in the glorious spa, complete with pool, sauna, steam room and outdoor hot tub; and well-balanced nutritious, seasonal dishes, whipped up by Head Chef Paolo Belloni. Meals are served in the Wild Carrot, which boasts panoramic views of the Hampshire countryside, and despite its grand size, a surprisingly-intimate atmosphere. After a long day, order a nightcap or an artisanal cocktail, inspired by seasonal, local ingredients at the Wild Carrot’s inviting bar.

All Escapees are treated to well-appointed, luxurious en-suite rooms, with the very finest-quality mattresses and bedding that will quite literally envelop you into the land of nod after your day of exertion. The bathrooms, where standalone baths sit alongside jet showers, offer Espa toiletries to treat yourself after your day in the great outdoors.
