Subtitled The Body is The Frontline, choreographer Rosie Kay’s 5 Soldiers is danced commentary on combat. It demonstrates that, despite advances in technology, the human body cannot be designed out of war.
In 2008, Birmingham-based Kay spent time with
Joe Moran, choreographer and artistic director of Dance Art Foundation, wants audiences to be more involved with dance performances than they normally are. He does not want patrons sitting in a theatre and passively observing what’s developing on stage.
So, On The Habit of Being Oneself</
Acosta Danza makes its UK debut at Sadler’s Wells in September, ahead of a nationwide tour.
Fans of dance in London are therefore being treated to their very first glimpse of the Cuban collective, established last year by the one and only Carlos Acosta.
