Journey into the murky depths of the Thames with Wendy Cope's River Girl. Board the Floating Puppet Barge to witness the story of Isis who falls in love with a mortal poet, as told through beautiful marionettes.

Totally Thames festival 2017

For the whole of September, Totally Thames will take over London's riverbank. The month-long celebration will feature over 150 events and activities, with everything from art installations to theatre performances.

Scythians: Warriors of ancient Siberia, British Museum

Take the family back in time to the vast plains of ancient Siberia. This September, the British Museum will host an exhibition that showcases the life and times of the formidable tribes.

Open House Junior: free kids events

There's no reason parents should have all the fun at Open House London this autumn. Famous establishments from Paddington Station to Kew Gardens will open their doors with a series of family friendly activities meant to inspire the next generation of architects.

Mel Brooks' Young Frankenstein, Garrick Theatre

Forget Frankenstein's Monster – Mel Brooks' Young Frankenstein is our favourite retelling of Mary Shelley's classic novel. Brooks himself adapted the screenplay into a riotous musical, and starting this September, the 1974 cult classic will be performed on the Garrick Theatre stage.
