The best date restaurants in London
What makes a restaurant romantic? Of course, it depends on who you’re asking. Candles, cosy alcoves, the right music and, of course, delectable food are a good start. What about open fires, stunning views and even aphrodisiacs?
Here's our pick of the city’s most romantic restaurants so you can decide for yourself.
Garden Café at The Garden Museum
An out-of-the-way spot to impress a lover who likes dates recherché and adores gardening. This is the utterly charming café of the newly spruced up Garden Museum with a pretty central courtyard designed by Dan Pearson.
Chefs George Ryle and Harry Kaufman are rising stars. On the frequently changing menu find enticing dishes like mallard and quince, hake, braised fennel and saffron. If profiteroles are on, they’re to die for. It’s lunchtime only except on Tuesday and Friday evenings.
