Lurching from thrillingly acrobatic to comically playful, the show promises teetering towers of balanced bodies, some wince-inspiring bending and devilishly precarious aerials. Peepshow combines some of the finest acrobatic talent out there under the direction of circus visionary Yaron Lifschitz to create a playfully exhilarating ride into the beautifully bizarre recesses of the mind. Over a million people have seen Circa’s work in the past, with their 2016 show The Return receiving a five star review from the Guardian and their 2017 show Humans earning four stars from What’s On Stage.
The Underbelly Festival is celebrating its 10th birthday this summer and with it comes the pop-up’s biggest programme yet. The fun-loving line-up features exciting live acts in circus, comedy, cabaret and family entertainment. Most shows are short - just an hour long - and tickets are usually under £20, making the Underbelly Festival accessible and affordable. It’s well worth allowing time to soak up the atmosphere around the performance spaces (which you can also drop in and enjoy without seeing a show); with international street food, outdoor bars, fairy lights and music, it’s a festival experience right off the river Thames.
