Best running routes in London
London is one of the best cities in the world for runners, so lace up and hit those pavements: here are our top ten running routes to help you find your way.
Southbank: Westminster Bridge to Butler's Wharf
The Southbank is the classic zone 1 power route, full of neon headbands and Sweaty Betty leggings on a Saturday morning. The 3.7 mile jog from Westminster Bridge to Butler’s Wharf (the Uber cool old warehouse buildings beyond Tower Bridge) is marvellous if you like a spot of people-watching. It’s short but jam-packed with some of the most famous sights in the capital, from the London Eye and National Theatre, to the Tate Modern and the Globe. Do it earlier in the day though, as by lunchtime the crowds can make the narrow streets around London Bridge less fun to navigate.
