The concert will be a chance for fans to hear Stacey's latest album, ‘I Know I dream: The Orchestral Sessions’, which has been critically acclaimed for its breathtaking beauty and assured expressiveness. Along with tracks from her new album, the jazz virtuoso will be performing some of her much-loved American Standards, Bossa Nova classics and French Chansons, as well as songs she collaborated on with Nobel Prize-winning author Kazuo Ishiguro.
Stacey's latest album follows 'Tenderly' (2015), an intimate
collaboration with Brazilian music master, Roberto Menescal; 'The Changing Lights' (2013); all-French,
'Raconte-moi' (2010); and the Platinum-selling, Grammy-nominated,
'Breakfast on the Morning Tram' (2007).
Stacey’s time in London actually began when she enrolled in a graduate music programme at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where she met her future husband and musical partner, Jim Tomlinson. Today, Stacey’s repertoire includes a number of songs written for her by husband Jim, with various lyricists including Ishiguro.
After graduating in the 90s, Stacey began her career singing regularly at Café Boheme in Soho. Within two years, she was performing as the opening act for established artists at Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club in London (also a stop on her 2019 London tour). Stacey’s return to London will provide a rare opportunity for UK fans see her 'live' in concert.
