In what was a £3 million deal, Beckham and Ritchie bought the London pub and have announced plans to give it a Soho House-style makeover. (Cheers to that.)
Ritchie is no stranger to the pub business. Back in 2008, he and ex-wife Madonna bought the Punchbowl, a Georgian pub in Mayfair, which Ritchie later sold in 2013. Then in August 2018, Ritchie bought The Lukin on Conway Street in Fitzrovia, announcing plans to reopen the pub under the name The Lore of the Land in the near future.
Beckham, on the other hand, will be a first time pub owner. However, given the footballer has also modelled, released his own clothing range, fragrances and most recently his own whisky brand – Haig Club – we’re expecting big things from his new London pub. Although, chances of walking in and finding either celebrity pouring the pints are looking slim.
