Women have better palates according to countless studies backed up by wine high priestess Jancis Robinson MW. So no wonder we’re challenging for supremacy in every area of the drinks business from whisky, sherry and mezcal to the most innovative alcohol-free libations.
Making women winemakers more visible is the mission of Carole Bryon at her first solo wine shop/bar in Covent Garden. It will always have more than half the list championing female makers and, particularly those producing exceptional biodynamic and natural wines. The organic theme informs the food menu too, designed by chef-restaurateur Victor Garvey of Soho's Rambla, a Culture Whisper favourite.
