As Londoners become used to restaurant food in their own living rooms, will more restaurants launch their own takeaway services to compete with Deliveroo and Uber Eats?
Motu Indian Kitchen will at first serve south west London from a base in Battersea. Areas able to order dishes include Fulham, Clapham, Chelsea, Wandsworth, Putney and Battersea.
Motu is an affectionate Indian term meaning 'fat man', and duly the food boxes available (Feast Boxes are £20) will be in comfort food styles. They'll typically pay homage to British take out, and early boxes available include Kashmiri Mutton Shank Roganjosh; Bonemarrow Methi Goat Keema; LKO Chicken Korma; Pork Spare Rib Vindaloo; Chicken Tikka Masala; Madras Prawn Masala; Paneer Butter Masala; A Tandoori Mixed Grill and Lamb or Chicken Biryani.
Popular Indian beers like Cobra will be on offer, and Indian interpretations of western fizzy drinks, like ThumbsUp (a bit like Coke) and Limca (an Indian lemonade).
Motu Indian Kitchen will be open and ready to deliver from Monday 17 October.
