BBQ specialists The Joint will be a familiar name to Brixton foodies, having first popped up there back in 2012, pioneering the now increasingly ubiquitous pulled-pork barbeque scene.
For 2015, though, they're stepping it up again, with a stylish new setup on Marylebone's Cavendish Street, serving up a classic BBQ menu of burgers topped up with ribs, hot wings and the usual side selection, along with some great-looking cocktails (check out their twist on the Gin Collins, with lemon and thyme) – the Joint's new spot is definitely one of the must-eat places in London.
Their burgers are all served up on fig & vanilla sourdough buns made by the Bad Boys Bakery, an inspiring programme working out of Brixton Prison to train inmates in baking, and to give them responsibility, and work experience. Bad Boys began with the 2012 Gordon Ramsey show, Gordon Behind Bars, and today Daniel Fiteli, co-founder of The Joint, works closely with the team there. They're now catering at one of the coolest London restaurants around at the moment.
While the downstairs cocktail bar is decked out in vivid patterned monochrome, the street-level dining area is a little more stripped-down, featuring exposed wood- and metalwork around long, refectory-style tables. If you're looking for cool places to eat in Marylebone, then, head to the joint and enjoy some succulent street-food in a relaxed setting.
