From June 10 - June 12, to coincide with the launch of Sotheby's Modern & Post War British Art sale, Ollie will be serving a bespoke six-course tasting menu, complete with matching wines, which is designed to compliment the exhibition, and draws influence from the artists, who include Barbara Hepworth and Frank Auerbach. It sounds fascinating, although perhaps some of the dishes will hopefully not go too far into the realms of the abstract; nobody wants to look at what's on their plate and be confused by what's on it, although this is seldom the case with the talented Dabbous.
Commenting on the event, Dabbous says 'When creating each of the dishes I was drawn to the different colours and textures, particularly with the more shape-driven abstract artworks that diners will be surrounded by. I was also very interested in where the artists came from, and the regional stories behind the works, as I am passionate about the locations that I source ingredients from.' Although it's not cheap at £250 per head - which does at least include a Nyetimber reception - it promises to be an unforgettable evening for the deep-pocketed.
