Christmas foodie events to book in London
Christmas is synonymous with food and feasting, but who wants to start the crackers and turkey too soon? We'd rather be making snaps, taking saunas, getting all pre-Revolutionary Russian with, or skating on top of a carpark with fondue at the ready. Here's our guide to where to have the most luxe and unusual festive foodie fun without the t-word (unless it is tikka style).
Nordic Winter Wonderland at Aquavit
Better than Narnia, Scandi restaurant Aquavit is getting a ravishing winter makeover courtesy of florist to the stars, McQueen's. Expect the full-works secret winter garden of silver birch trees, lichen covered branches, and a veritable forest of snowy Norman spruce trees covered in white pea lights, all in exceedingly good taste.
Tea tastes better from a silver tea set? Right. To prove our point, it is Danish luxury brand Georg Jensen all the way. The afternoon tea is a feast of smørrebrød with classic Nordic toppings such as gravlax, plus freshly baked cinnamon and cardamom rolls and famous Danish cake, gåsebryst. To tipple there's Blossa glögg: Swedish style spiced mulled wine.
Price: Afternoon tea for two £65
