Teaming up with British perfume house Penhaligon's, The Savoy has created the most sumptuous afternoon tea, cleverly transforming the above ingredients into the headiest of brews.

Tuck into a delicious mulled wine eclair, a spiced scone with ginger jam and clotted cream or santa hat decorated profiteroles. Or, for the savoury seekers amongst you, sink your teeth into the most decadent array of finger sandwiches piled high on silver afternoon tea stands. Pair with a spot of vanilla spiced tea or a glass of Louis Roederer vintage champagne 2009 for a treat worth its age.

Settling in for an afternoon under the glass domed roof of the Savoy's Thames Foyer is a real festive treat. Glittering with soft winter lights, vermillion red baubles and Christmas wreaths, the Thames Foyer has been transformed into a veritable winter wonderland. The live pianist playing Christmas tunes in the centre of the room only adds to the festive atmosphere.
