With views over the river from outside the Southbank Centre, BBQ Club & Bar will host lavish six-course evening supper clubs, as well as cater to casual diners. On the ground floor, a walk-up BBQ bar will serve food to take away, ranging from familiar burgers to newfangled 'BBQ Boxes' full of hot smoked salmon, smoked and slow roast lamb shoulder, or an alternative vegetarian dish of charred nectarine salad.
There's ample riverside seating – although ample is never enough on the hyper-crowded and busy Southbank, so arrive out of key times to secure the best views.
If you're hankering for something less casual, the first-floor supper club space will be a lively spot for sunset dinners, curated by Jimmy Garcia of Cornercopia and Jimmy's Ungerground Pop-Up. A tasting menu of grilled dishes cooked on Jimmy's iconic Big Green Egg BBQ will span six courses, featuring lamb cutlet, queenie scallops, roasted cauliflower and Sicilian anchovies. An honesty bar reflects the convivial mood, where guests will be encouraged to mingle.
Before you head home, roast marshmallows over tabletop embers (we're intrigued).
