True OriGINs is the brainchild of Aberdeenshire brothers Mungo and Guy Finlayson, who are keen to showcase Scottish gins and shine a light on the wares of independent distilleries. From the stormy shores of Shetland to the heather-hugged hills of the Highlands, the brothers have explored the gin offering across their home country, collating an eclectic range of unusual craft brands to display at the festival. “70% of British gin is distilled in Scotland,” points out Mungo. “As proud Scots we’re keen to spread the word and to show everyone how fantastic authentic Scottish craft gin can be.”
Eight different Scottish regions will be represented at the festival – each with their own bar. “We really want to take our visitors on a journey around the Scottish Isles and make the whole experience as exciting and immersive as possible,” says Mungo. As such, festival-goers will be armed with a glass and ‘Gin Bible’ on arrival to aid them on their juniper-infused journey between the stands. There will also be music, Scottish-inspired street food, and masterclasses from producers and distillers to complete the experience.
