Finally, a fashion event in London that taps into the strong correlation between fashion and dance. It's hard to miss the symmetry between waif like models in witchy McQueen and the gothic costumes of Edward Scissorhands or how the drape of Rodarte's latest collection evoked parallels with The Light Princess. The theatrics of fashion, clothes in performance, these are the subjects of Laura Falconer's and Russell Maliphant's new film.
Laura Falconer has worked extensively with fashion photographer Nick Knight and has contributed to British and American Vogue, W, AnOther and Garage magazines, to name but a few. Fashion credentials assured, Falconer joined with Olivier Award winning choreographer Russell Maliphant, to explore the theme of ‘fashion in movement’.
The film will be shown on November 22 at The Red Bull Studios and promises to be a an engaging exploration of how fashion operates at the heart of contemporary culture.
