At The Coal Shed there’s something for everyone, from weighty, mouth-watering steaks and smokey seafood to dainty macarons. Take a seat amid shelves stacked high with wine bottles, and enjoy aromas from the kitchen as your meal is cooked and grilled over a natural fire. Here, your love of meat will be catered for in the most ethical and environment-friendly ways possible – The Coal Shed is dedicated to its sustainable suppliers on the South Coast, and chef Dave Mothersill selects the produce himself.

Beyond a succulent main menu – the torched Sussex mackerel is only for
starter – you’ll also find selections of rarer meats on offer. The fish from the fisherman’s catch will also be up there: a changing, daily treat.
If you have children in tow, or are planning a meal with friends, head over to Tower Bridge on a Sunday for The Coal Shed's Sharing Sunday Roast and tuck in to a 500g black Aberdeen Angus 35 day dry-aged roast sirloin of beef. It's a mouthful in more ways than one. Make sure you go in a group of even numbers, though – it's one between two for £40.
