Carnaby Style Night this week

No less that 13 streets in the heart of London have a fashion pedigree that dates back to the Swinging Sixties. The colourful, pedestrianised network around Carnaby Street, just a stone's throw from Oxford Circus, might be touristy, but who hasn't gone there to get the perfect Instagram shot? Plus, they always have the best Christmas lights display.

But for one day a year the Carnaby area is especially worth battling those out-of-towners to reach. Every May the area stages a street party and style night. This Thursday, to mark its sixth year of parties, and in partnership with GQ magazine, participating shops in and around Carnaby will offer 20% off usual prices, and there will be food and drink offers as well as live music. All in all, more than 100 businesses will be taking part. Register for a ticket and receive a free cocktail at the Ganton Street pop-up bar.

Highlights include ice lollies and a DJ at AQ/AQ while you shop their structured, minimal evening wear, and enjoying drag acts as you browse make-up at Illamasqua.
