5 ways fashion has flexed its technological muscles in 2018
From drones carrying bags for D&G to computer-generated influencers taking social media by storm, fashion and technology are coming together to change the face of the industry - and it's pretty darn cool.
Earlier this week at PFW, Nicolas Ghesquiere of Louis Vuitton erected a sleek space ship set in one of the most revered cultural, settings in the world – the Louvre (a Napoleonic courtyard where royalty used to keep their horses, to be precise). The fashion house donated funds to restore the disused horse courtyard in order to erect the set there.
Just before, in Milan, Jeremy Scott sent a tribe of retro-futuristic models down a supersonic runway dressed as Jackie O/alien hybrids for Moschino. Fashion has long-been obsessed with the space-age and technological advances, whether it be cosmic prints or Karl Lagerfeld/Chanel's epic rocket launch last year.
