Zaha Hadid Design's futuristic dog pod leads BowWow Haus charity auction
Sometimes it may seem difficult to escape the design dogma of wire mesh cages and the classic Snoopy-esque outdoor kennel. But times are changing!
Zaha Hadid Design is one of 65 design practices turning its hands to haute-couture barkitecture. Fun, fabulous, and sometimes functional, their pooch pads are the cutting edge in pet design.
But this is design with a purpose: each bespoke kennel will be sold at BowWow Haus charity auction. The auction has been organised to raise funds for Blue Cross, an animal charity that cares for more than 40,000 sick and homeless dogs each year.
You can bid online at 'The Salesroom', or in-person at St Pancras International, where the kennels are on display until 26 April 2018.
From concrete boxes to cocoon-like snugs, these designer homes get Teddy's woof of approval.
Sleek lines, beautifully-crafted wooden slats, and a chic-Scandi aesthetic - what more could a dog want? Well maybe a little padding...the Kittycat kennel is definitely not for the faint-hearted.
Suitable for: dogs who are fans of Frank Gehry
Not suitable for: dogs who don't like the sauna aesthetic
