Zaha Hadid Design's futuristic dog pod leads BowWow Haus charity auction
Sometimes it may seem difficult to escape the design dogma of wire mesh cages and the classic Snoopy-esque outdoor kennel. But times are changing!
Zaha Hadid Design is one of 65 design practices turning its hands to haute-couture barkitecture. Fun, fabulous, and sometimes functional, their pooch pads are the cutting edge in pet design.
But this is design with a purpose: each bespoke kennel will be sold at BowWow Haus charity auction. The auction has been organised to raise funds for Blue Cross, an animal charity that cares for more than 40,000 sick and homeless dogs each year.
You can bid online at 'The Salesroom', or in-person at St Pancras International, where the kennels are on display until 26 April 2018.
From concrete boxes to cocoon-like snugs, these designer homes get Teddy's woof of approval.
The Doggle Box is the height of luxury barkitecture, acting simultaneously as a kennel and a stylish piece of furniture for the modern home. Built in-house by DLM Architects using the finest upholstery and wood, the Dogglebox advocates both form and function.
Suitable for: dogs who would prefer to be more like their cat frenemies
