In Morphed Saarinen’s signature choreography features a distinctive range of contrasting styles from the brutally aggressive, ensuring shock factor, to soft, hypnotic movements as seven male performers channel their strength and masculinity.
Morphed is a liberating, powerful performance displaying the men’s shifting emotions as themes of change and sensuality are explored.
The piece will see Saarinen reprise his collaboration with Mikki Kunttu responsible for set and lighting design. The emotive score comes courtesy of Esa-Pekka Salonen, the Finnish composer best known to London audiences as Principal Conductor of the Philharmonia Orchestra.
Tero Saarinen company was founded in 1996 and they have regularly performed and toured internationally since. The primary aim of the company is described as 'to promote a humane worldview and basic human values through the language of dance, while also increasing people’s understanding of their own physicality and its significance for a good life.'
