At 23 Brook Street, Hendrix lived in a third floor flat between 1968 and 1969. Now, the apartment has been painstakingly restored in the way it would have been during the musician's time there. Walk through the main living room to get a sense of the artist's domestic life, before peering into Hendrix's bedroom and his entire record collection. This is the only Hendrix home in the world that can be visited.
Just next door lived another artistic pioneer, as George Friederic Handel spent 36 years at 25 Brook Street, an elegant Georgian townhouse now known as Handel House, until he passed away there in 1759.
Rehearsals and first performances of Handel's music took place in the house, including the inception of Messiah, which, performed by the English Chamber Orchestra, was one of Jimi Hendrix's most played records.
Head to Handel & Hendrix in London for an immersive glimpse into the intertwining lives of two musicians who reshaped the art form.
