Olde worlde magic comes to the Royal Albert Hall by way of the Royal Choral Society, a 150-strong choir who have performed at the venue in various iterations ever since the Royal Albert Hall's official opening in 1872.
For its 150th anniversary concert, the choir is being accompanied by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra as they perform a range of traditional favourites and rare carols you might not have heard before. A timely highlight of the 2022 programme will no doubt be two performances of Ukrainian carols: 'Spy Isuse Spy' (Sleep Jesus Sleep) by composer Roxanna Panufnik and Mykola Leontovych's famous 'Carol of the Bells'.
Special guest performances come by way of soprano Mary Bevan and Fanfare Trumpeters of the British Imperial Military Band.
