Pop Up Screens host 'Cinema in the Snow' at the Hackney Showroom

Don't let the unseasonably warm weather fool you; winter is well and truly on its way. But despair not. Pop Up Screens have found the perfect remedy for those dark, chilly nights.

To help you settle into that Christmas spirit, the collective will be hosting a series of screenings of festive blockbusters at the Hackney Showroom from 8 December till the eve of the big day itself.

The programme includes classics new and old, suitable for all the family: from Frozen and It's A Wonderful Life to Elf – playing a total of eight times – and La La Land, which isn't strictly a Christmas film but it is feel-good and a musical and colourful so it just about qualifies.

Pop Up Screens will also be creating the setting to match the cinematic magic. Inspired by the wardrobe in Narnia (the Lion, Witch and The Wardrobe will also be showing), you'll fight through racks of fur coats to arrive at an enchanted fir tree forest.

There will also be hot chocolate, mulled wine and handmade brownies on offer to enjoy while the film rolls so you'll feel just at home – if your home had just been hit by a massive indoor blizzard that is.
